Simple Kid’s sophomore release 2 marks the end of The Great Hibernation, a period after 1 was released where the Kid abandoned the music industry and worked as a video store clerk. Good thing that didn’t last. With a fuller sound than its predecessor, 2 combines folk, country, pop and electronic elements with lyrics that are both serious and playful.
